P1C News

It’s been all systems go at P1C as we’ve been putting Christmas plans in place and working on some exciting new clients, including OCR Park, Hard Rock Cafe, RGS Guildford Dubai, Global Grad Show and Getvov.com!.

Social media

Ever searched for something specific on Instagram and struggled to find what you need? Safe to say, the search function is a bit blah as it’s limited to user names, locations and hashtags – that is, until now. The social platform has finally granted users the capacity to search for specific keywords included in posts. This is great news for brands looking to maximise their Instagram performance as they can leverage their content to be more visible. https://bit.ly/3m8Bc7V

If you’ve ever fancied yourself as a social media star, now could be your shot at fame! In a new feature called Spotlight, Snapchat is encouraging people to post by promising a share of a daily $1m (£747,000) for their most viral snaps. It will be a major change to how Snapchat users find content on the platform to rival TikTok. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ve got some viral snaps to create. https://bit.ly/3ma944b

Ad Campaigns

For its Christmas campaign, The Body Shop has partnered up with Channel 4 to shine a light on female homelessness in the UK working with charity partner End Youth Homelessness. Narrated by spoken-word artist Rasheeda Page-Muir, the ad communicates individual survival stories such as Jamie who became homeless in her late teens but is now a dancer. As we enter the festive period, The Body Shop is hoping the campaign will appeal to the goodwill and generosity of the public at a time when it is hard to be on the streets. https://bit.ly/2J3Uugy

In another dance-themed campaign, Nike celebrates the strength of black women through the power of dance in its latest dance film titled ‘The Awakening In Dance: An experience in motion.’ With music by the talented Brazilian singer Ludmilla and dance troupe The Turmalinas Negras, the campaign represents empowerment, the manifestation of black culture and positive social transformations through dance in an outstanding performance. https://bit.ly/377N8As

Tip of the week

Maximise your social content by tailoring it to the specific platform you’re sharing it on. Not all channels are the same, and nor should your content be.
