This week we enjoyed a socially distanced Christmas workday in our Windsor office complete with secret Santa, a delicious lunch at The Corner House and some festive surprises! It was great to see the team face-to-face, albeit two meters apart, and a fantastic end to what’s been a very busy year for P1C.

On Wednesday Twitter announced that it would let users retweet as they did before and has abandoned its experiment with the Quote Tweet. It was introduced to reduce the spread of misinformation by forcing users to consider their opinion before mindlessly retweeting, but instead, Twitter found engagement drop on the platform showing that sometimes things work in theory, but in practice, it’s a whole different story. https://bit.ly/3mxLYUq

Google is known for its whacky offices, complete with an indoor slide (!), but it is now working on an internal project known as the Immersive Spaces Series offering a roadmap on how to create restorative spaces in the workplace. Whilst returning to the office varies across the board, the introduction of the meditation chambers for employees to acknowledge and restore their mental health could not come at a more relevant time. https://bit.ly/3rbq2lw

As the pandemic continues to affect the hospitality industry, Burger King has stepped in once again to help independent restaurants. The fast-food giants are allowing independents to post on the Burger King UK’s Instagram account for free to promote their services and hopefully stay afloat until they can reopen once lockdown restrictions lift. https://bit.ly/37vhK07
