The London Classic Car Show is returning next year! The must-attend event for car enthusiasts and petrolheads will be taking place at Olympia London from 24th to 26th February 2023, and the first tickets will be available on 24th November. We’re already executing our PR plans and social media content for the car show, as well as a new website design – keep an eye on their Facebook page for more information.

FluidOne hosted one of their popular and thought-provoking cyber dinner events last week at Balthazar in Covent Garden. Guests heard from expert speakers about the cyber insurance market, as well as the latest developments in the cyber landscape. We’ve also been working on preparing email marketing and social content for an upcoming campaign!

Last week, Aldenham Prep Riyadh was featured in Arab News in a piece about the school’s Harvest Festival, where students donated care packages of food to the Charity Committee for Orphans Care. The school was also recently showcased in the latest Investments Highlights report from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment – AEG’s managing partners spoke about why they decided to open a new school in Riyadh.

A new blog went live on Tanya Mansotra’s website last week titled  ‘The Chakra Chapters: The Root Chakra’  – a deep dive into the root chakra and its importance for mental, physical and spiritual well-being. You can read the blog here – and while you’re there, check out the rest of Tanya’s new website.

We wrote and published a new blog for Trigg Digital this week, which takes a closer look at retail media networks and the biggest challenges that they’re facing in today’s market – you can read it here.

We’re gearing up for CarFest tickets going on sale next week, on Thursday the 17th of November! The team have been hard at work on PR and social media campaigns ahead of the festival, which takes place next August at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire.

Social Media News

Social media is constantly changing, and this week’s no different – keep reading to learn some of the newest developments and features making headlines.

  • Twitter has rolled out the new ‘official’ grey checkmark on verified users’ profiles, ahead of the launch of its new $8 per month verification plan. Selected accounts, including companies, government organisations, and public figures will get the checkmark to signal that they’re using an official account, but it won’t be shown on their tweets – the grey tick will be visible on their profile, below their username. http://bit.ly/3EjH89q
  • Instagram has launched a new feature aimed at professional accounts. After testing it with a select group of users, it’s now giving all content creators and businesses the ability to schedule posts in the app. It’s not just posts they can schedule – users can schedule carousels and Reels. They can be scheduled up to 75 days in advance, making it easier to plan posts and manage content while on the go. http://bit.ly/3NODMi5
  • Snapchat has partnered with the fitness brand Strava for a new integration. With the use of an AR Lens, users can showcase their fitness activity in a Snap or a Story post. By connecting with their Strava account, users can add statistics and maps to their posts, giving friends or followers visual and interactive updates of what they’ve been up to. http://bit.ly/3A0hnbZ
  • YouTube has announced that it’s rolling out its new ‘Go Live Together’ feature to more users, giving creators more ways of interacting with their audience and collaborating with others. The feature allows users with at least 50 subscribers to add other users to their livestream during a live broadcast. The host can screen guests before adding them, and only add one at a time, and YouTube will also show ads during the broadcast.  http://bit.ly/3hibSyC
  • Google has added new shopping features ahead of the festive  season, which could have big implications for both shoppers and retailers. Coupon codes and promotion codes are now included in search results to help people find the best deals, and Google’s also added new price comparison information. Online retailers, meanwhile, can check up on how well their deals are performing, and review promotions, in the Google Merchant Center. http://bit.ly/3NQVKAi

Christmas Is Coming

The John Lewis Christmas advert was released this week, which can only mean one thing – the festive season has officially begun. So crack open the mince pies, make yourself comfortable, and watch the brand new ad, which you can see here.

This year’s ad, called ‘The Beginner’, is about a man learning to skateboard to impress his foster daughter, and follows in the footsteps of the department store’s other iconic Christmas ads, like ‘The Bear and the Hare’ and ‘Monty the Penguin.’ And just like those other ads, this one’s sure to bring a tear or two to your eye. Other ads have been set to covers of classic songs, and this is no different, with a cover of Blink 182’s All The Small Things – by the American singer Michael Geier.

It isn’t full of crackers, carols, or roast turkeys, though. For their latest festive offering, John Lewis has decided to shine a spotlight on the issue of children in care. The store is working closely with the charities Action for Children and Who Cares? Scotland, and has said it will be making donations of Christmas decorations, food and gifts. There’s not much product placement to be seen in the ad, but you can still buy some of the products shown, including a John Lewis teddy bear and (of course) a skateboard – 25% of the sales of these products and others will be going to the store’s two partner charities.
