P1C Friday Finds Round-Up: 5th – 10th June 2021

It has been another busy week at P1C (I know, we say that every week, but it’s true!) as Hard Rock Cafe’s exciting collaboration with Lionel Messi has launched, the countdown to the London, Birmingham and Manchester Indian Film Festivals began, and we announced our newest charity venture ‘Ride For Pride’!

Not sure what we’re on about?! Next Sunday (20th June), 3 members of team P1C will be cycling 40 miles from Newbury to the Windsor office for MindOut, a mental health charity run by and for people from the LGBTQIA+ community. The aptly named ‘Ride For Pride’ was an idea cooked up by newbie marketing manager Kirsty, in honour of pride month.

President Biden touched down in the UK for his first official visit this week, just in time for the G7 summit taking place in Cornwall today. We hear he’ll be visiting Windsor castle while he’s this side of the Atlantic – be sure to give us a wave, Joe!

More exciting news for the royal family this week, as Harry and Meghan have announced the birth of their second child, a baby girl. Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Friday morning and both mother and baby are said to be safe and well. We wish their growing family all the best!

Facebook has been busy again this week, with the announcement of their Apple Watch rival, which will be launching next year. Rumours are that the watch face will be detachable, and feature two high-quality cameras, as well as Facebook and Instagram integration. Find out more here: https://bit.ly/3pIBc0O

The platform also published a new report on the key factors influencing online purchases – a must-read for marketers. Although the report focuses on consumers in Hong Kong and Taiwan, it’s findings can certainly be applied to other regions. Their primary finding? Instagram has announced a number of new monetization options for creators, including a new affiliate marketing program, which will make it easier for creators to earn money from product promotions. There will also be an option to attach an Instagram shop to personal profiles, and a number of financial incentives aimed at encouraging creators to utilise the channel’s ‘live’ feature.
