This last two weeks have flown by at P1C. We’ve been relaunching websites, promoting events in the UK and Dubai, smashing out content (as always) and interviewing for a new role!

Last weekend, superstar Alice joined one of our newest clients, Milton Keynes Islamic Arts and Culture (MKIAC), for their ‘City of Light’ festival. The festival went swimmingly and has received stellar coverage across various regional media outlets – including the BBC!

A quick update for everything going on in the world of social media over the past 2 weeks:

  • LinkedIn has published a new overview of how to make the best possible use of its ad tools for different campaign objectives. The guide outlines which specific elements to consider, including targeting, ad formats and content. Read more about it here: https://bit.ly/3BJl9Fi
  • In line with Mental Health Day on 10th October, Pinterest has launched a mental health project. ‘Pinterest Havens’ is a special board dedicated to helping users explore the relationship between mental health and rest. Read more about it here: https://bit.ly/2YSjGhf

The Big October Blowout

Unless you were hiding under a rock on 4th October, you will have noticed that Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were all down in what was one of the biggest outages in the history of the social media giants. A pretty big hit for businesses,influencer and social media users worldwide, the event has got all kinds of people thinking about their reliance on the platforms… keep an eye on our social media channels to hear our thoughts on the subject!

Design Of The Week

If there is one thing everyone is talking about right now, it is the South Korean Netflix series ‘Squid Game’. Tapping into the financial desperation of the Squid Games’ contestants, Miami-based debt relief app ‘Relief’ has launched a new business card inspired by the show. The business cards bear resemblance to a calling card used in the show, but urge the reader to get help rather than resorting to “extreme measures”. A pretty clever way to tap into popular culture. Hats off to you, Relief!

Campaign Of The week

There’s nothing quite like a feel-good campaign to get you smiling on a Friday, right? Luckily, that’s exactly what Nespresso is serving up this week. The brand’s latest ad campaign, ‘This Ad Plants Trees’, does exactly what it says on the tin. Delivered in collaboration with ‘Good Loop’, the campaign will see Nespresso planting a tree for every view the ad gets. Go Nespresso!

Ad Of The Week

It was pretty easy to pick this week’s ad of the week.

‘Don’t Be That Guy’ is a new ad unvieled by Police Scotland on Wednesday. The straight-talking campaign aims to reduce sexual violence toward women by encouraging men to have honest discussions about sexual entitlement. With an agenda that addresses male attitudes to women from the smallest of gestures to full-blown sexual assault, it’s already caused quite a stir. Us? We’re relieved to see a campaign that finally addresses the problem of male sexual violence at the source.
