Social Media Campaign 2017

For the Omega Dubai’s Desert Classic, we implemented their social media campaign across all channels.

With big names such as Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia appearing, our main objective was to raise awareness of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic across their 3 social platforms, increase followers and engagement and drive ticket sales ahead of the event.

Technique

The buildup to the event was dominated by the news announcement that Tiger Woods was coming to the tournament. After the announcement in the press, people immediately went to social media channels to follow the tournament’s coverage. The tournament itself was filled with live videos of press conferences, with updates about the rounds and associated events as well as photo coverage. Following the event, we prepared a series of videos with players talking about why they love golf in Dubai. The videos helped to maintain the buzz after the event and kept the engagement on social profiles quite high. We ran a series of competitions during the event for free tickets and merchandise, which generated a lot of interaction.

  • The Facebook page reached 30,000 people during the tournament and engaged over 10,000 people
  • The event trended worldwide on Twitter on day 2 of the event
  • #DDC17 reached over 2 million people with over 4 million impressions on Twitter alone
